Rugby league icon Bryan Fletcher has praised the start of Lachie Miller’s NRL career as unprecedented.
Miller, who joined the Knights from the Sharks over the summer, was a standout in Newcastle’s upset win over the Raiders on Sunday and Fletcher was left stunned the former Olympian has played just 11 first-grade games.
“They (Newcastle) were very good, I thought Lachie Miller, this was his 11th game in first grade, what he has done in 11 games I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do what he is doing,” Fletcher said on the Matty Johns Show.

'We've moved on': Salmon set to miss weak-gutted dog re-match

Penrith have sent Jaeman Salmon for scans on a finger injury as Panthers co-captain Isaah Yeo insisted ahead of this week's trip to Canberra the utility had moved on from the "weak-gutted dog" saga.
Salmon injured himself while attempting to catch a ball at training on Monday and after seeking help from a trainer was sent for further examination.
It leaves the 24-year-old in doubt to play in Friday's game against Canberra after he was thrust into the spotlight following last season's win over the Green Machine.
Jack hammered: Wighton accepts ban after being charged twice

The controversial NRL match review committee has deemed Jack Wighton's hit on Jackson Hastings as worse than Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i's cheap shot on ex-Raider Charnze Nicholl-Klokstad.
They also graded it on a par with late hits from Felise Kaufusi, also on Hastings, and Jahrome Hughes - highlighting the massive inconsistencies with the judiciary.
Wighton accepted a two-game ban after taking an early guilty plea for grade-two dangerous contact on Newcastle halfback Hastings.
