    Ricky Stuart has leapt to the defence of his "aggressive" Raiders team despite two late brain snaps almost costing them a vital win over the Warriors.

    The 16-10 victory will likely be a win of consequence for the Raiders, with skipper Joe Tapine and hooker Tom Starling facing nervous waits after being placed on report throughout.

    For Tapine, two incidents will come under scrutiny after earning the ire of referee Adam Gee for a crusher tackle on Marata Niukore early on and a shoulder charge on Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in the final five minutes.

    Ricky Stuart has called for the league to stop disciplining acts of aggression after a fiery battle between the Warriors and the Raiders saw three players sent to the sin bin.

    The Raiders produced an electric fight in Christchurch to down the hosts 16-10 in a match that included 17 penalties, 24 errors and four players placed on report.

    With three of the four players on report wearing a green jersey in the match, Stuart will be set for a nervous wait for the results of the match review committee.

    Raiders hooker tom Starling is facing a suspension after he was sin-binned and placed on report for a late and high tackle on Warriors kicker Chanel Harris-Tavita.

    "He was hit in the air after the kick. Tom Starling got him above the shoulders on the jaw."

    With the Raiders leading 16-10 with three minutes to play, Starling shot out of the line and jumped into Harris-Tavita in the act of kicking to give the Warriors a late chance of forcing golden point.

    "Harris-Tavita was taken down heavily here and it will be a penalty," Warren Smith said.
