    Kaeo Weekes shined, leading Canberra Raiders to a 40-24 victory over Gold Coast Titans with eight tries.

    A brilliant attacking display from Kaeo Weekes has led the Canberra Raiders to an eight-try 40-24 NRL thumping of the Gold Coast Titans.

    After a tight first half on a chilly afternoon at GIO Stadium in Canberra, the Raiders exploded to start the second stanza, scoring three tries in 11 minutes, in the process pushing the Titans to the bottom of the ladder and increasing the pressure on coach Des Hasler.

    The winning margin could have been even greater if Jamal Fogarty had brought his kicking boots, the Raiders half converting just four from eight shots at goal.

    The Titans scored early, but the Raiders responded with a try from Tamale.

    Off the back of a missed opportunity from the Raiders, the Titans got a penalty and immediately went down their left hand side inside the opening five minutes. Some nice shape from Kieran Foran injected AJ Brimson through a poor read from Canberra's bad right edge and Jojo Fifita backed up in support for the opener to make it 6-0.

    Off the back of some poor discipline, the Raiders kept sustained pressure on the Titans defence. Hudson Young looked to capitalise on it with a grubber kick. It was heavy off the boot, but Seb Kris didn't give up on the play, batting it back into the field of play and Savelio Tamale was the beneficiary after 13 minutes.

    Early in the first half in Canberra, the Raiders trailed 6-0 before they attacked the line.
