Tom Starling feels the Green Machine are building towards something special and he would've been "filthy" if he wasn't a part of it.

It's why the Canberra Raiders starting hooker has re-signed for another two seasons, keeping him in lime green until at least the end of 2027.

The 26-year-old is an emerging leader in the capital and his form in the No.9 jersey has been a driving factor in the Raiders sitting fourth on the NRL ladder.

Prop Corey Horsburgh is raring to go in the Canberra Raiders' home match against the Gold Coast Titans, after being sidelined following a concussion.

Horsburgh said he felt good after a head knock in the Raiders' Magic Round win against the Melbourne Storm ruled him out of the 10 May home match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

"I was a bit disappointed last week, you pass all the tests, and that, feeling very good. I'm feeling inspired to get out and play some footy," he said.

Is this the price of NRL popularity? The Canberra Raiders are flying high this year. So high that online scammers are posing as Raiders players, targeting fans with fake "get rich quick" schemes, sparking concern for vulnerable supporters as the NRL grapples with another social media storm.

Facebook accounts under the guise of Raiders captain Joe Tapine, veteran prop Josh Papali'i and star rookie Savelio Tamale have been created, with bewildered Canberra fans receiving friend requests and direct messages with proposals to "earn extra income".
