Manly's coach blames NRL schedule for poor form, but real issue is Daly Cherry-Evans' captaincy position.

Manly coach Anthony Seibold is blaming the NRL schedule for the Sea Eagles' poor form.

This is a cop out.

His real problem is veteran halfback Daly Cherry-Evans and emerging concerns over his position as captain.

As for Seibold's rant, Manly had five of its first seven games at home - a luxury some other clubs would kill for.

Cronulla has two home matches in the first 10 rounds. Plus they've been to Las Vegas, Townsville, Perth, Canberra and Newcastle.

Titans coach updates on injuries: Campbell may not need surgery, but both him and Fifita out for weeks.

Gold Coast Titans head coach has revealed better than expected news on Jayden Campbell, and confirmed David Fifita won't be back within the next month.

Both Fifita and Campbell were late withdrawals from the Titans loss to the Canberra Raiders on Sunday afternoon at home, with Campbell understood to have suffered a syndesmosis injury at training, and Fifita battling a hamstring complaint.

"We had a bit of good news on JC [Jayden Campbell], so we don't think he will need an operation, but he will still probably be four or five weeks to get over that," Hasler said.

NRL match review committee issues four charges for Sunday games but Gold Coast, Cronulla, Newcastle players fined.

The NRL's match review committee have handed down four charges from Round 7s Sunday games, however, players from the Gold Coast Titans, Cronulla Sharks and Newcastle Knights will all escape with fines.

In the early game, played out to a ten-point win for the Canberra Raiders over the Gold Coast Titans, the MRC were left with plenty of work to do after four players were placed on report by referee Adam Gee and bunker official Grant Atkins.

He will face a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea, or $1500 if he fights and loses in the judiciary.
