Canberra Raiders may extend Jamal Fogarty's contract, potentially making him a free agent in 2026.

Canberra Raiders halfback, Jamal Fogarty, could be on his way out, pending his club's decision to activate a clause in his contract to extend his time at the Green Machine.He currently has an option in his contract that could see him become a free agent for 2026, and with several clubs in the hunt for a halfback of his calibre, the 31-year-old could be playing his last season in a lime green jumper."I'll sit down with them [Fogarty's management] at the right time," he told the media on Wednesday.

Ricky Stuart coached Craig Fitzgibbon, who knows what to expect in Sharks vs Raiders game.

Craig Fitzgibbon has been coached by Ricky Stuart at club, state and international level, and the Sharks coach will know what he's walking into on Thursday night. I just hope his players do, too.

It's an old-fashioned Raiders ambush just waiting to happen. When Canberra are playing at home they are just a totally different proposition and a 10- to 12-point better team.

"Sticky" plotted and executed a physical ambush on the Broncos a few weeks ago and even though the Raiders are coming off a couple of losses on the road, Cronulla will need to pack their overalls. Because it's going to be down and dirty in the nation's capital.

Raiders started strong but now struggle with back-to-back losses, while Sharks faced mixed results.

The Raiders attack was looking superb in their opening two games of the season as they spanked the Warriors 30-8 over in Vegas, which they followed up with a brilliant 32-22 over a highly fancied Broncos side in the second Round. But then everything went topsy-turvey and in the last two weeks they've lost back-to-back games and their defence has leaked 70 points against Manly and the struggling Cowboys.

The Sharks story isn't too dissimilar. They were very competitive in Vegas against the defending Premiers Penrith, losing 28-22 in a gallant display. They backed it up with comfortable wins against the Cowboys 36-12 and Souths 27-12 - two sides with solid forward packs. But last week their attack took a wrong turn somewhere and their pack was unable to gain any dominance over the Bulldogs forwards - ultimately leading to the Sharks losing 20-6.
