    It's a sign of how much the Canberra Raiders mean to Elliott Whitehead - the hard-as-nails Yorkshireman started to get emotional talking about his time at the club.

    And he's left the door open for a return to the club where he played all of his 205 NRL games, potentially as a coach - once he's hung up his boots at Catalans in the English Super League.

    The 35-year-old said his Raiders career didn't end how he wanted it too - suspended for a hip-drop tackle.

    An iconic Canberra Raiders name is leaving the club, but they've moved to lock down two of their young guns.

    The Raiders have opened talks with Kaeo Weekes and Xavier Savage, while hooker Zac Woolford - whose dad Simon captained the Green Machine - has joined English Super League club Huddersfield on a one-year deal.

    Woolford's father also coached the Giants across three seasons from 2018-2020.
