    The Newcastle Knights have suffered a double injury blow in their clash against the Canberra Raiders, leaving fans feeling deflated.

    Enari Tuala, who was filling in Dominic Young's shoes on the wing, will be undergoing scans for a quad injury, potentially benching him for up to three weeks.

    With Tuala being the club's top try-scorer in previous seasons, his absence will be a tough hit for the struggling Knights.

    Tom Jenkins, a recruit from the Penrith Panthers, may have to step up to the plate next week if Tuala is sidelined, hoping to continue his impressive try-scoring streak from both the NRL and NSW Cup.

    Canberra have breathed a huge sigh of relief with star backrower Hudson Young able to accept a fine for his late shot on Kalyn Ponga.

    Young was sin-binned in Thursday night's 28-12 win over the Knights after he collided with Ponga well after the star Newcastle fullback had passed the ball.

    The 25-year-old was charged on Friday but was only handed a grade-one dangerous contact offence and can escape with a $750 fine.
