    Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has admitted a few niggling injuries over the last few weeks have impacted his plan to rest key players in the lead up to the finals.



    While it hasn't been uncommon for the Penrith coach to rest players throughout the season, especially his Origin stars, Cleary also hasn't been afraid to rest key personnel right before the finals over the past two seasons.

    This included spelling nearly the entire side against the Cowboys for the final round last year.

    Of course, it's been a tactic that has yielded results, with the Panthers winning the past two grand finals as well as minor premierships in those years.

    Broncos halfback Adam Reynolds could be kept out of Brisbane's final two regular season games with a niggling calf injury and not just this week's Raiders clash as first thought.

    Reynolds suffered a minor calf tear during a training session last Friday, and was quickly ruled out of the penultimate round match in Canberra.

    Speaking to The Courier Mail, Reynolds says he will only miss one or two games and alleviated the fears of Broncos fans by declaring he will be fighting fit for the finals series.

    I will miss one or two games but in my mind I'm back for the semis, Reynolds said.

    Jack Wighton is set to be honoured by the Raiders on Saturday night in his final home game in Canberra, but some drama is swirling at his next club.

    Departing for South Sydney next season, Wighton, and retiring Raiders legend Jarrod Croker will be celebrated in a special presentation following their clash against the Brisbane Broncos this weekend.

    A big crowd is expected at Canberra Stadium to farewell the influential duo that have played more than 500 NRL games combined for the Green Machine.
