If Canberra Raiders fans felt Hudson Young was hard done by in his NSW Blues axing for Origin III, rest assured they weren't alone.

There were mixed emotions at Raiders training on Monday as the team learned of Corey Horsburgh's long-awaited call-up to the Maroons' 17, while Young was dumped for game three in Sydney on July 12.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Raiders centre Jarrod Croker who thought Young was a near-certainty to retain his position for NSW after setting up their only try in a solid showing in game two.

Hudson Young has been cut from the NSW Blues squad for game three of State of Origin in Sydney as coach Brad Fittler made some intriguing changes.

The Canberra Raiders star made his Origin debut in game one, and had a solid performance in game two but couldn't retain his position in the Blues after NSW lost the series with defeat in Brisbane.

Penrith's Liam Martin will assume Young's spot in the Blues starting line-up.

Corey Horsburgh will become the 230th player to line up for Queensland in State of Origin when he makes his Maroons debut in Sydney.

The 25-year-old Canberra warhorse joins Gold Coast fullback AJ Brimson as the only two changes made to the side that wrapped up the Origin series 2-0 with a 32-6 win in Brisbane in game two.

North Queensland's Tom Dearden is 18th man and Parramatta's J'maine Hopgood the 19th.
