If James Tedesco is looking for someone to blame for the night terrors he's suffering in the wake of Jamal Fogarty's bombing raid, he can look no further than Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart.

Fogarty revealed Stuart had been "into" him to unleash the wicked, spiralling torpedoes that had Sydney Roosters fullback Tedesco looking for the foetal position on Sunday night.

There's been a notable progression in the Raiders halfback's kicking game this season as he's slowly built the confidence to expand his repertoire in games.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson has defended skipper James Tedesco after the fullback's troubles under the high ball led to two Canberra tries in the
Raiders' 20-18 win on Sunday.

Tedesco was outjumped twice in after two first half bombs from Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty, with Jack Wighton leaping over the Blues fullback to reign in the kick and score.

Just over 10 minutes later, in-form Raiders fullback Seb Kris jumped over Tedesco and batted a ball back to centre Matt Timoko, who scooped up the ball and ran in under the posts.

It's the most important hamstring in Canberra and the Raiders will be sweating on Josh Papali'i's scans to find out how long he'll be out for.

Papali'i had those scans on Monday afternoon after hurting it just 10 minutes into the Green Machine's 20-18 victory over the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.

The Raiders were expecting to know more on Tuesday, when they'll name their team to face the Gold Coast Titans at Canberra Stadium this Saturday.
