Kaeo Weekes steals the show as Raiders win 28-24 over Dragons

Raiders defeat St George Illawarra 28-24, boosting minor premiership chances; Kaeo Weekes shines with three tries.

    The Daily Telegraph

The Canberra Raiders remain on target to win their first minor premiership since 1990 after defeating a valiant St George Illawarra side 28-24 at GIO Stadium on Saturday.

It may have been a cold night in the national capital, but Raiders fullback Kaeo Weekes was in white-hot form, chiming in with three tries, a try assist and four line break assists, as the Green Machine clung on for their 14th win of the season.

‘I’d be paying a fine’: Flanno fumes at shocking forward pass call in Dragons’ tight loss

Dragons coach Shane Flanagan upset over forward pass decision denying Tyrell Sloan a hat-trick.

Flanagan believes his side should have won the game and would have won if Sloan's first try had stood.

    Wide World of Sports

Dragons coach Shane Flanagan was left frustrated with a forward pass call that robbed the Red V of an early try in their 28-24 loss to the Raiders on Saturday evening

While the decision came early in the match, the controversial call proved the difference in the tight result.

The Dragons were hurt when fullback Tyrell Sloan looked to have scored the opening try in the corner, only for it to be denied.
