High stakes for Cowboys and Raiders as they battle to break into top four. New starters.

    League Unlimited

With the halfway point of the season hitting this round, the stakes are high for both clubs who sit outside the top four. A win for the Cowboys puts them well in contention for the pointy end, while the Raiders need the two competition points just to keep pace.

In terms of team news the Raiders lose Monalisa Soliola (shoulder), which sees Kerehitina Matua start in the second row, and Reina Wuruki-Hosea - 18th player for the last several weeks - finally getting a crack and set to debut on the bench. Elsewhere in the Green Machine lineup, Shakiah Tungai is out with Alana Dummett replacing her.

The Cowboys welcome back Queensland Origin forward Makenzie Weale, who has been named on the bench. Out since the opening round with a head injury, she pushes Sareka Mooka out of the side. English import Fran Goldthorp moves to fullback and pushes Krystal Blackwell to the wing.

'Pressure equals diamonds': Raiders challenged to embrace tough run home

Canberra Raiders NRLW coach challenges team to step up with tough upcoming games.

    The Canberra Times

Pressure makes diamonds and Canberra Raiders coach Darrin Borthwick has challenged his NRLW side to rise to the occasion.

It's a make or break part of the season for the Green Machine, who sit one win outside the top four with six rounds remaining.

They face the Brisbane Broncos at Langlands Park on Saturday - at the start of a tough run home that includes the second-placed Sydney Roosters, third-placed Parramatta and last year's grand finalists, the Gold Coast Titans.

Broncos ignite season with record-breaking win; Raiders start strong then slump in NRLW.

    League Unlimited

After starting the season on a low, losing to the Eels and Roosters, the Broncos finally found their groove and ignited their season last week, beating their "little sister" 44-4. The game saw NRLW records broken, with Mele Hufanga scoring four tries in one match for the second time in her career, which equals the NRLW and Broncos record for tries scored in one match, and the Brisbane side also breaking their record for biggest win margin.

Shenae Ciesiolka moves back into starting centre, returning to the squad through the bench last week after recovering from a fracture. Lavinia Gould moves onto the bench, with Jada Ferguson playing as starting hooker. Lauren Dam returns to the squad after missing the Titans clash, and Skyla Adams is 18th player.

The Raiders started their season on a high note, beating the Tigers 32-12 on away turf. They then descended into a slump, losing to the Knights and Sharks at home in Round 2 and 3 respectively.
