Canberra Raiders' Tom Starling is set to join St Helens after being cleared to negotiate a move for more game time.
Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has confirmed hooker Tom Starling has been given the green light to negotiate a move to St Helens, with the 28-year-old set to depart the NRL for an opportunity in the Super League.
Starling is understood to have been offered a three-year deal with the English club, with the move expected to take place immediately despite originally being contracted to the Raiders until the end of the 2027 season.
The hooker has fallen out of favour in Canberra's starting side following the emergence of young gun Owen Pattie, prompting Starling to explore opportunities elsewhere in search of more regular game time.
Stuart confirmed the club would not stand in the way of Starling's departure, acknowledging Starling's desire to continue playing regular first-grade football rather than remain as depth behind Pattie.
