NRL's Andrew Abdo supports Reece Walsh's fine, endorsing the match review committee's decision.
NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo has backed the match review committee's handling of the Reece Walsh headbutt controversy, declaring he is "very comfortable" with a slap on the wrist for the Brisbane star.
Walsh's second-half headbutt on Canberra Raider Hudson Young has divided opinion amongst fans and pundits, with some calling for a harsher penalty and others happy the Broncos flyer avoided suspension.
Walsh will be free to play in a preliminary final next weekend after being hit with a $3000 fine for the incident, which referee Ashley Klein said was sparked by Young's taunting of Walsh.
