NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley maintains the struggling halves pairing, keeping Ethan Strange on the bench despite his prior success.

The Canberra Times

NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley has sensationally stuck with the halves pairing that was completely overrun in game two of the State of Origin series.

It means that Canberra Raiders five-eighth Ethan Strange will again be on the Blues bench, despite playing a starring role in NSW's only win of the series.

Fellow Raider Hudson Young has been picked to start in the Blues' second row - just as he did in the opening two Origins.

But there was some hope Strange would get promoted to wear NSW's No.6 jersey after incumbent five-eighth Mitchell Moses struggled for Parramatta on Thursday night.
