The Canberra Raiders are yet to begin talks with off-contract hooker Tom Starling as they continue their chase of Jayden Brailey.
Talks are advanced with the former Newcastle captain and the Raiders were hopeful of luring him to the capital, but it's believed it's not done yet.
With Danny Levi likely to leave Canberra at the end of the season, the Raiders were looking for some experience to help with the development of young gun Owen Pattie, who made a strong start in his NRL debut in Las Vegas.
