Raiders sign Hunt and Hopoi for two seasons
The Canberra Raiders signed forwards Jaiyden Hunt and Lipoi Hopoi for two seasons, enhancing their forward depth.

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders are excited to announce the signing of forwards Jaiyden Hunt and Lipoi Hopoi, who will join the club for the next two seasons.
The addition of Hunt and Hopoi will further boost the club's forward stocks as both players join the club for an opportunity to continue their NRL careers.
Jaiyden Hunt joins the Raiders, having played 40 NRL games across six seasons at both the Brisbane Broncos and St George Illawarra Dragons.
Aged 28, Hunt has played predominantly in the second row at NRL level while showing his versatility, playing in the front row across 70 NSW and QLD Cup games.
Lipoi Hopoi joins the Raiders, having debuted for the Bulldogs in 2024 before going on to play 17 NRL matches over the past two seasons.

The two pillars of the Raiders defence - props Chloe Saunders and Sophie Holyman - are united in their goals from the final weeks of the 2026 NRLW season.
It's a given they would like a maiden premiership, and they took another step towards that by holding Wests Tigers to a 6-0 scoreline in Friday night's elimination final.
But they are also driven by another important component in Canberra's success - Simaima Taufa.
Firstly, both Saunders and Holyman are quick to acknowledge what they've learned from her about taking control of the middle. Secondly, they hope their combined defensive work will lessen the blow for their teammates of not having Taufa on the field.

The Canberra Raiders defeated West Tigers 6-0, advancing to the NRLW preliminary finals with strong defense and a key penalty goal.

The Canberra Raiders NRLW team have advanced to the preliminary finals after their victory against the West Tigers 6-0 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The Raiders defence was the star of the show, with the Green Machine holding the Tigers to no try's, with the middle forwards laying the foundation for a famous victory.
In their first final series since the team was established in 2023, the Raiders were hungry to advance to next week's preliminary finals, but the Tigers weren't going to make the job easy.
