The close bond driving high school friends towards NRLW glory

Raiders winger Mackenzie Wiki says it's especially nice to be striding down the right touchline for her club to find her old schoolmate in Leianne Tufuga on her inside.
It worked particularly well for Canberra in their 22-10 win over the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval last Friday night with both women scoring in the four-try-to-two win.
They were in the same Auckland high school playing rugby sevens together before each went their separate ways.
Mackenzie followed her famous father Ruben Wiki into rugby league and into one of his former clubs - the Raiders - making her debut in the NRLW club's foundation year of 2023.

NRL Telstra Women's Premiership Finals
Wests Tigers face Canberra Raiders in NRLW Finals; Brisbane Broncos play Newcastle Knights. Sydney Roosters and Titans have byes.

Two first-time finalists and two of the giants of the NRLW will face off in Week One of the NRL Telstra Women's Premiership Finals.
Wests Tigers and Canberra Raiders, both playing in their first NRLW Finals Series, will clash in prime time on Friday night at Campbelltown Stadium.
And in the second match, Premiers Brisbane Broncos will play Newcastle Knights at Totally Workwear Stadium on Saturday.
Minor Premiers Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast Titans will have the bye in Week One of the Finals.
The NRL today confirmed the times and venues for NRLW Week One Finals, featuring:

Judiciary: Basham and Temara
Basham and Temara charged with illegal tackles; both can opt for $400 fines instead of one-match suspensions.

Charlotte Basham and Chanté Temara have been charged by the Match Review Committee following our NRLW team's win over the Tigers last night.
Basham was charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact on Sarah Togatuki in the 60th minute of the match.
Under Rule 39A Basham can elect to pay a fine of $400 instead of a one match suspension upon entering a plea of guilty.
Temara was charged with a Grade 1 High Tackle - Careless on Tara Reinke in the 65th minute of the match.
Under Rule 39A Temara can also elect to pay a fine of $400 instead of a one match suspension upon entering a plea of guilty.
