    Savage named in Queensland Women’s Under 19 extended State of Origin squad

    Queensland women's Under 19 squad meets in Brisbane for training, preparing for the June 18 match.

    The Queensland women's Under 19 extended State of Origin squad will assemble in Brisbane this Friday evening for a further development opportunity over the weekend.

    The squad, which has been selected from performances in the Harvey Norman 19s and NSWRL Tarsha Gale Cup, will train together at ACU's Brisbane campus.

    For some players, it will be another step in the process of locking down a position in the Queensland Under 19 team to play NSW at North Sydney Oval on June 18.

    For others, it will be about the experience, with an eye to the future and the following year's representative program and interstate match.

    The Canberra Raiders entered Saturday afternoon's clash with the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium chasing a seventh straight win in the matchup. Due to a heavy injury toll players such as Chevy Stewart have been provided an opportunity to step up into the first grade. Meanwhile, the Titans were fresh off a bye with key players AJ Brimson and Chris Randall returning to action.
