    NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round Eight Wrap

    The Raiders won decisively against the Magpies in NSW Cup but lost in Jersey Flegg.

    The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders travelled to Lidcombe Oval on Saturday afternoon to face the Magpies and the Wests Tigers in their ANZAC Day clashes, with a dominant win in NSW Cup and a tough loss in Jersey Flegg.

    The Raiders have gone back-to-back in NSW Cup with a strong win against the Magpies.

    Canberra halfback Ethan Alaia was a standout and made his mark early, taking the first points of the match not even five minutes after kickoff.

    The Magpies responded with their winger Fiohiva Siale Fainga'a making a linebreak and going over in the eighth minute.

    Raiders fullback Chevy Stewart was in fine form, scoring a try late in the first half and converting six out of Canberra's eight tries scored.

    Injury Update: Martin and Hosking

    Raiders' injuries: Martin to undergo ankle surgery, Hosking out indefinitely, Strange and Sasagi face fitness tests.

    The Raiders have updated injury information heading into this weeks clash against the Gold Coast.

    Noah Martin will have surgery on both ankles after he suffered separate syndesmosis injuries against the Tigers. He will meet with a specialist this Friday to determine the process for surgery next week. 

    Zac Hosking has been ruled out of Saturday's match under concussion protocols and is out indefinitely. He will be assessed weekly to determine a return to training and match play. 

    Both Ethan Strange (ankle) and Simi Sasagi (hamstring) will be named for this Saturday's match, but will have to undergo fitness testing later in the week.

    The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders NSW and Jersey Flegg Cup sides will travel to Lidcombe Oval to take on the Magpies on ANZAC Day this Saturday.

    The Raiders JF Cup side are aiming for four wins in a row, when they take on the Tigers in the first of a double header in Sydney.

    Canberra have averaged 43 points in their last three games, showcasing their ability to score points quickly in patches.

    This will be one of Canberra's toughest tests of the early season, facing the fourth placed Tigers.

    Although they've had two early byes, the Tigers pose a 3-1 record and haven't lost at home yet this year.
