Canberra Raiders supported World Blood Cancer Day to raise awareness for stem cell donation and donors.

Canberra Raiders players and staff attended a special event at Parliament House this week to support World Blood Cancer Day.

Morgan Smithies, Daine Laurie, Owen Pattie, Savelio Tamale and Raiders Wellbeing Manager Andrew Bishop, joined Federal MP Bob Katter to help raise awareness around stem cell donation.

Right now over 110,000 Australians are living with blood cancer. For some time, their only chance at a cure is a transplant from someone with closely matched blood stem cells. The day is about raising awareness for donors and how people can help save lives by donating valuable blood stem cells.

You can register to become a donor here stemcelldonors.org.au
