'Ridiculous to think about': Stuart wants patience with young guns

Raiders coach shuts down Origin talk, focusing on managing workload and expectations for rookies.

    The Canberra Times

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has shut down "ridiculous" State of Origin talk around rookie of the year contender Ethan Strange as he manages workload and expectations for the young guns on his roster.

The next month will be a pivotal period for the Raiders' season, who have defied expectations to sit fifth on the ladder at the midway point of the year.

    League Unlimited

The Cowboys started the year flying out of the blocks, winning their first three games and mimicking the purple patch they enjoyed in the middle of their 2023 campaign.

Canberra come off the bye, enjoying the two points catapulting them into fifth, in a season where Ricky Stuart's men defied expectations to be seven wins from thirteen games, despite niggling injuries to some of their stars. The tenacious competitors continue to write off the critics, but the Cowboys can be unpredictable, and despite their success, the Raiders have a habit of dropping games they should win.
