James Schiller is joining the Wests Tigers for the 2027 season after limited opportunities with Newcastle Knights.
The Wests Tigers are set to land another late signing for the 2027 season, with fringe Newcastle Knights outside back James Schiller set to change clubs.
Schiller, originally out of the Dragons system, has struggled to find game time in the Hunter this year.
Landing in the Hunter at the start of 2025 from the Canberra Raiders, where he played the first 15 games of his NRL career between 2022 and 2024, Schiller played 17 games in his first season for the club, but managed just a single appearance in 2026 - during Round 8 against the Penrith Panthers - and another as a reserve.
He was in fine form at NSW Cup level though, scoring 16 tries in 13 games, making 64 tackle breaks and running for 133 metres per game.
