We love the mighty Canberra Raiders
Was this the hint Canberra Raiders fans were waiting for?
The Raiders took their pre-season camp to Kiama this week with two open training sessions allowing the public to get a first look at the squad before their 2024 NRL campaign.
One of the biggest storylines going into next season will be who Canberra coach Ricky Stuart puts in the No.6 jersey to replace Rabbitohs recruit Jack Wighton.
International Canberra recruit Morgan Smithies is gearing up to make a statement in the NRL as he looks to earn himself a spot in Ricky Stuart's starting lineup for the 2024 season.
After a successful stint in the Super League, Smithies has signed a three-year deal with the Raiders, adding depth to their lock position.
While Smithies will face tough competition for a starting role from fellow lock Corey Horsburgh, he is eager to prove himself on the field.
The versatile player is capable of playing in multiple positions, including second-row and prop, which only adds to his value for the team.
A January meeting with a specialist could finally decide beleaguered Canberra Raiders star Corey Harawira-Naera's future.
Harawira-Naera needs his heart rhythm to return to normal before specialists will give him the all-clear to return to training following his sickening seizure midway through the year.
It's the final box the likeable New Zealand international needs to have ticked for a return, with January's results potentially deciding one way or another whether he'll be able to continue to play football.
