Maori All Stars coach Adam Blair has revealed Melbourne Storm recruits Manaia Waitere and Trent Toelau have been among his most impressive players during training ahead of Sunday's game.
While the All Stars concept could well be on the ropes, it will provide opportunities for a number of young players to impress this weekend, including Waitere and Toelau, who Blair told 2GB Radio have both had a good week.
"I've been really impressed with young Manaia Waitere from the Storm. He's a young kid, only played one game at the Canberra Raiders previously.
"Obviously there's Trent Toelau here who was at Panthers and is at the Storm now.

"I can still find a way into the team": Walters eyes comeback and new Broncos contract
Billy Walters is recovering from an ACL injury, aiming to return by round 20 while supporting the Broncos' success in the premiership.

Torn by the Broncos' success and the heartbreak of a major injury, Billy Walters is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in the finals against the Canberra Raiders last season.
The club would go on to win the premiership, defeating the Melbourne Storm while Walters watched from the sidelines.
"The knee was a bit slow to begin with, to be honest," he revealed to Wide World of Sports at the NRL season launch on Tuesday.
"I had a bit more meniscus damage than what they originally thought, but it hasn't pushed my return date back too much further, so still aiming for about round 20.

Do pre-season trial games matter? That's a tough one ...
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart opposes pre-season trials due to injury risks and season length.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has long opposed pre-season trials, considering the length of the season-proper - seven gruelling months - and the risk of injuries.
Last year, the Raiders fielded a near full-strength lineup for the final trial against the Sharks. The Raiders went down heavily, 40-10, before bouncing back a couple of weeks later to hammer the Warriors 30-8 in the first round.
There are plenty of reasons why there may have been a turnaround, including a mindset that it is only a trial game with no premiership points lost or gained.
Another is that there is plenty of experimentation in trial games, with the seemingly constant subbing of players, and the risk of injury to key players always in the background.
