Jordan Uta walked out of the Canberra Stadium sheds for his first Raiders captain's run and not even the bright sunshine could hide his radiance.
It capped not only the 20-year-old's journey, but that of his family, who moved to Australia about 10 years ago chasing the rugby league dream.
Not to mention capping a big year - marrying his now wife Shirley and welcoming his four-month-old daughter Ailani into the world.

Farnworth out as Dolphins prepare for Raiders clash

Coach Kristian Woolf said the star centre would miss Thursday's clash against Canberra at GIO Stadium, where the Dolphins are looking to win a fourth straight game and climb up from eighth spot.
Already missing a plethora of stars because of State of Origin, including fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, winger Selwyn Cobbo, prop Thomas Flegler and lock Max Plath, the news will only make the task harder for Woolf's side.

The Dolphins have suffered a blow with star centre Herbie Farnworth ruled out of Thursday night's clash against Canberra.
Farnworth was named by Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf in the centres on Tuesday for the tricky road trip to Canberra to face the Raiders.
But the English Test star has succumbed to general tightness, with versatile utility forward Oryn Keeley to replace Farnworth in the centres.
It is understood the injury is not serious with Farnworth hoping to be cleared for the Dolphins' round 14 clash against the Cowboys in a fortnight after a bye round next weekend.
