Canberra Raiders face Penrith, boosting intensity ahead of finals; perfect timing for their season.

    The Canberra Times

I'm not going to say this is the game the Canberra Raiders need, because that would be to discount the magnificent job they've done so far this season.

What I am going to say is the timing of it is perfect for them, because the intensity is going to rise to great heights and it's important for them to experience that now we're getting very close to the finals.

South Sydney faces the Dragons without Latrell Mitchell, while Isaah Yeo's return remains uncertain.

South Sydney has received a mix of news ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the injury-stricken Dragons. Notably, Latrell Mitchell has been ruled out again, while one of their stars is set to make a comeback. Simultaneously, the situation surrounding Panthers' star Isaah Yeo's shoulder injury has become more uncertain, as he has been named on the extended bench for their crucial clash against the NRL ladder-leaders, Canberra, on Friday night.

Yeo has been sidelined since injuring his shoulder during the round 22 victory over Gold Coast. The Penrith club has kept details about his injury closely guarded. Coach Ivan Cleary previously indicated that Yeo had not completely dislocated his right shoulder but acknowledged uncertainty regarding the severity of the injury and his expected return timeline.

However, Yeo has shared optimism over the weekend about potentially returning for the important game against the Raiders, which Penrith believes they must win to sustain their top-four aspirations. "I'm a chance of playing, I think. My shoulder's coming along well," Yeo stated on Fox League.

Penrith Panthers sign young playmaker Haami Loza as ten players may leave this off-season.

    LeagueNews.co

The Penrith Panthers have reportedly acquired a talented young playmaker from the Newcastle Knights, aligning with speculation that as many as 10 players might leave the defending champions during the upcoming off-season. According to Peter Lang from 'The Western Weekender', Haami Loza has agreed to join the Panthers.

At just 21 years old, Loza is well-regarded at the Knights and made his debut in the NSW Cup earlier this season. Lang stated, "Haami has plenty of potential and will no doubt thrive in the Penrith Panthers pathways system."

This signing follows the Panthers' recent acquisition of Keahn Skipps from the Canberra Raiders. Skipps served as captain of the Raiders' Jersey Flegg Cup team at the Under-19 level and is also highly rated. Both Skipps and Loza will benefit from the guidance of star Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary, with Lang predicting that they will soon vie for a spot in the first grade.
