  • Reynolds races clock to face Raiders

Broncos captain Adam Reynolds tight-lipped over future, plays down push for Suncorp farewell

Adam Reynolds downplays retirement talk, focusing on recovery from calf injury ahead of potential farewell at Suncorp.

    The Australian

A cagey Adam Reynolds has played down a push for him to receive a Suncorp farewell as the champion Broncos skipper spoke out on his playing future.

Usually cheeky and engaging, Reynolds adopted a siege mentality as the two-time premiership winner addressed speculation he may be forced into premature retirement.

The match-winning No.7 has been ruled out of Saturday night's clash against the Warriors and is racing the clock to be fit for Friday week's road trip to face the Raiders in chilly Canberra.

Cleared of concussion suffered in their loss to the Knights a fortnight ago, Reynolds is now battling an ongoing calf injury that left him unable to train at Red Hill on Tuesday.

Broncos coach Michael Maguire is mindful of Reynolds' situation and the club wants to honour their inspirational captain with a Suncorp tribute in their final home game of the season against the Storm in round 26.

The end’: New frontrunner to land fiery Raiders star after rival club’s talks with veteran collapse

Corey Horsburgh will leave Canberra after a strained relationship with coach Ricky Stuart, following a costly sin binning against Newcastle.

    Fox League

Raiders star Corey Horsburgh is set to leave Canberra at the end of the season with his "frayed" relationship with coach Ricky Stuart set to spark an early exit from the club.

Stuart singled out Horsburgh in his post-match press conference on Sunday after a brainfade from the prop led to his sin binning during the Raiders' heartbreaking loss to Newcastle.

The defeat ended Canberra's finals hopes.

  • New club in mix for Hudson Young as Raiders begin race against time

Hudson Young charged over hair pull, Pompey facing suspension

The Raiders aim to re-sign Hudson Young before he reaches free agency, following a lucrative three-year extension offer.

    Zero Tackle

The Canberra Raiders have begun a three-month race against the clock to secure the signature of second-rower Hudson Young before he can head to the open market.

The star second-rower has already been offered a three-year extension worth close to a reported $1 million per year by the Raiders, and as little as a week ago, everything looked in hand for the club who were set to re-sign their star through to the end of 2030.

Young is now regarded as one of the best second-rowers in the game, having played Origin again this year. He would have been a walk-up starter for the Kangaroos at the Rugby League World Cup too, had he not copped a season-ending Achilles injury.

The Raiders are desperate to get Young locked up before November 1, because they know exactly what is coming if they don't.
