A chance to win the premiership title quickly slipped away from the Raiders in the 2025 finals series, leaving Corey Horsburgh "jealous" of those who played in the grand final.
After starting the season as outsiders to make the eight, the Raiders confounded pundits as the newly fashioned entertainers of the competition, climbing the ladder to claim the minor premiership in front of a raucous home crowd.
But the ladder-leaders dominant run came to a sudden halt in the finals series as Ricky Stuart was left searching for an answer on the sidelines.

'Back where you're meant to be': Raider's stellar season leads to international return
Sebastian Kris and Josh Papali'i return to international rugby league after three years with Kiwis.

Canberra Raiders centre Sebastian Kris and veteran forward Josh Papali'i are both set to return to the international rugby league stage for the first time in three years.
"Back where you're meant to be," said Kris' partner, Raiders NRLW star Madison Bartlett, in response to the Kiwis squad announcement in a social media post.
Kris was one of seven Raiders players to be named in the men's and women's Pacific Championships squads on Tuesday, following the Kangaroos and Jillaroos being revealed a day earlier.

Australian Kangaroos head coach Kevin Walters has confirmed his 24-man squad for the Ashes tour of England.
Seven debutants have been made to make the trip halfway around the world for the first bi-lateral series against England in more than two decades, with the finals series playing a heavy role.
The squad, which was originally set to be 22, was expanded to 24 with the Kangaroos including Ethan Strange and extra depth options in the squad after his barnstorming season with the Canberra Raiders.
Walters, who admitted he will have selection headaches without a warm-up game, also admitted the squad was hard to pick.
