Tigers Tumble, Raiders Roar in Close Call
In Round 16, Wests Tigers lost 16-12 to Raiders despite strong offensive start; Tapine and Stuart scored.

In Round 16 of the NRL, the Wests Tigers narrowly lost to the Canberra Raiders 16-12 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The match commenced with a strong offensive effort from the Tigers, but Jarome Luai lost the ball over the line while attempting to score after 11 minutes.
Shortly thereafter, a successful captain's challenge for the Raiders led to Joe Tapine scoring, putting them on the board.
Debutant Jed Stuart then scored for Canberra, benefitting from a flick pass by Sebastian Kris.

'She's our pillar': The driving force behind Jed Stuart's emotional Raiders debut
Jed Stuart honored his sister Emma during his NRL debut, scoring a try in Canberra's victory.

Emma Ruby. Those two words were a message of love, written on Jed Stuart's wrist to make his Canberra Raiders debut even more special.
Stuart got emotional when asked about them, having written them down as inspiration as his NRL dream came true.
His sister Emma is the "pillar" of the Stuart family and was watching on as Stuart scored a try in his first game in lime green - the 16-12 victory over the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown on Friday night.

Canberra Raiders head coach Ricky Stuart has revealed his playing group are now helping him pick his run-on team each week.
Stuart made the surprise call to have Hudson Young not only play, but start on Friday evening just 48 hours after playing Origin 2 for the New South Wales Blues in Perth.
While Horsburgh didn't play Origin 2, he was in the Maroons' squad and both he and Young made the nearly five-hour flight back across the continent the day before taking on the Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
