Jamal Fogarty has addressed his upcoming switch from the Canberra Raiders to the Manly Sea Eagles for the 2026 season.
The 31-year-old has been chosen by Manly to lead the club following the departure of long-time captain Daly Cherry-Evans.
Despite the promising fit for both parties, Fogarty emphasized that his decision was more influenced by the Raiders than by Manly.
"I always wanted to stay, and the club knew I wanted to stay," Fogarty shared with the Daily Telegraph.

Jamal Fogarty has spoken out for the first time since it was announced he would be switching out the lime green Canberra Raiders jersey for a maroon Manly Sea Eagles jumper from 2026.
The 31-year-old was identified by the Sea Eagles as the man to lead the club following the departure of long-time skipper Daly Cherry-Evans.

Playing over 310 matches for the Raiders since debuting in 2010, the front-rower remains off-contract at the end of the season and his future is currently clouded in uncertainty.
