The Canberra Raiders and Canberra Regional Rugby League have announced that they are opening registrations for the 2023 Under 14's Canberra Region Development Squads.
Interested players must be born in 2009 and must currently be playing in the Canberra Regional Rugby League competition to be eligible for the trials.
The trials will take place on Wednesday 28th June at the Raiders Belconnen, Hardwick Cres, Holt with games starting from 5:00pm.
The State of Origin door in Queensland has opened a little wider for Canberra Raiders lock Corey Horsburgh following Maroons forward Tom Gilbert's dislocated shoulder
Gilbert suffered the injury in the first half of Queensland's 26-18 win over the NSW Blues in Adelaide on Wednesday.
In the lead-up to the teams being named for game one, Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said the Queensland side that started Origin wouldn't be the one that finished it - implying there was plenty of opportunity for Horsburgh to make his debut.
Raiders medical staff believe head trauma caused Harawira-Naera's collapse during the NRL match against South Sydney, testing throughout the week finding two previous head knocks he'd taken shortly before his seizure could be the main reason.
Coach Ricky Stuart wouldn't speculate on a potential return date for Harawira-Naera on Thursday, although he expected the 28-year-old would get into some "light training" next week.
It might prove an emotional boost for Raider players, who looked distraught watching their teammate receiving medical attention last Saturday night.
