    Raiders forward Sophie Holyman might only have one year of NRLW footy under her belt, but she's licking her lips at the physical contest that awaits in the upcoming Women's State of Origin series starting Thursday.

    Holyman has had a meteoric rise in rugby league since making the transition from rugby union, with her NRLW debut for the Broncos last year earning her selection in the Prime Minster's XIII and now a Queensland Maroons debut.

    Holyman is set to beef up the Maroons pack from the bench in the legendary grudge match - and she cannot wait to get stuck in.

    There's been a host of changes for Round 14 after seven teams enjoyed the bye last week with the State of Origin opener being played this Wednesday.

    Roosters coach Trent Robinson has swung the axe on young winger Jaxson Paulo and returned Joey Manu to No. 6 with Sam Walker still sidelined.


    Rabbitohs sar Latrell Mitchell was considered a chance of playing against the Titans on Saturday after he was ruled out of the Origin opener with a minor calf strain, but the club has taken the cautious approach and not named him.

    Queensland's relatively inexperienced forward pack is ready to step into the breach in the absence of retired warhorse Josh Papalii, coach Billy Slater says.

    The Maroons will field three forwards - Tom Gilbert, Tom Flegler and Reuben Cotter - who have each played just one State of Origin game ahead of this year's series opener in Adelaide on Wednesday night.

    Canberra prop Papalii was the spiritual leader of the Maroons pack in a 23-game Origin career, and for the last seven series was one of the first forwards picked.
