    Phil Gould has tipped the Wests Tigers to take another big scalp as the club's resurgence under Tim Sheens gathers momentum.

    Having started the season with an awful losing streak that stretched to seven games and condemned them to months of negative press, the joint venture club has started to find its groove under the man who steered them to a premiership in 2005, winning three of their last four, including an upset of the Panthers and a 66-18 smash up against the Cowboys.

    On Friday night their form will be tested against one of the hottest sides in the competition when they host the Raiders at Campbelltown.

  • 'Canberra Stadium is tired': Calls for overhaul

    Capital Football chief Ivan Slavich says "Canberra Stadium is tired", adamant the arrival of an A-League men's team will provide a return on investment in a major rebuild or a new venue in the city.

    ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr is closing in on a deal with the Australian Sports Commission to redevelop the AIS precinct, effectively shutting the door on hopes for a new stadium in Civic.

    Plans to redevelop Canberra Stadium could leave an A-League team, the Canberra Raiders and ACT Brumbies playing in a venue which resembles a construction site for years.
