  • 'I was a bit worried': Hopoate reveals how he felt following Stuart's promise

    Albert Hopoate admits he was a little worried Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart might not keep his promise to bring him straight back in after missing a game to go to his sister Laumaile's wedding.

    But his faith and career-best form has been repaid in spades with a two-year contract extension.

    Coincidentally his re-signing has come just days before he faces his old NRL club, Manly, at Canberra Stadium on Sunday, where he'll come up against a former Raider who played a massive role in helping him overcome back-to-back knee reconstructions as an 18 and 19-year-old.

  • Raiders re-signing spree set to continue later this week

    It could be a massive few days for Canberra Raiders young gun Hudson Young, with the star second-rower's re-signing expected to be announced by the end of the week.

    The announcement could come just days before a potential State of Origin call-up when the NSW Blues name their team for the series opener on Monday.

    Young's continued to shine for the Raiders and was their equal leading try scorer this season along with Jordan Rapana with five.

  • Raiders extend deals with Rapana and Hopoate

    Veteran Canberra winger Jordan Rapana has been rewarded for his stellar start to 2023, agreeing to a one-year NRL contract extension with the Green Machine.

    The 33-year-old, who has six tries in five games so far this campaign, is joined by fellow winger Albert Hopoate in settling new terms with the club.

    Hopoate, the son of fomer Manly winger John Hopoate, has signed a deal to keep him in the nation's capital until the end of 2025.
