We love the mighty Canberra Raiders
Jack Wighton will not let his upcoming contract negotiations become a circus.
Wighton is, as it stands, off-contract at the end of the 2024 season, but has been allowed to negotiate and sign with a rival club from November 1 last year given the final year of his deal in the nation's capital is a player option.
Wighton is a well-known Raiders' fan and has previously spoken about his desire to become a one-club player, but that doesn't mean he won't entertain his player option.
Canberra forward Corey Horsburgh mocked rival Royce Hunt on social media after the latter labelled the Raiders player a "weak-gutted dog".
Sharks prop, Hunt, told a press conference on Wednesday, he can't wait to play Canberra later in the season to get payback on Horsburgh after their on-field stoush in the Raiders' win on Sunday.
Hunt accused Horsburgh of hiding behind teammate Jack Wighton after pushing him to the ground during a a scrum and was sin-binned after he landed a punch.
Horsburgh, hit back on Instagram, posting a meme of a doctored photo of him holding a baby with Hunt's head superimposed over the top.
Simaima Taufa has a job with the Canberra Raiders, but not as an NRLW player - yet.
NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick would love for her to also pull on the Green Machine jersey in their inaugural season later in the year, but they still can't sign any players because there's no contracts.
The Raiders have been able to sign former Jillaroo Lisa Fiaola as their women's wellbeing and education manager, with one of her main jobs to help any players moving to Canberra to settle into the capital.
