We love the mighty Canberra Raiders
Canberra Raiders star playmaker Jack Wighton is set to re-sign with the club on an expected 12-month extension.
Reported by The Daily Telegraph, Wighton is set to meet with his manager Matt Rose to discuss the extension next week.
Re-signing with the club back in 2020, a clause was added in the contract that would enable him to roll over his current deal for an extra 12 months.
Big names including Nicho Hynes and Ryan Matterson are set to make their first appearances of the season as a host of teams battle injuries and concussion woes ahead of Round 4.
South Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle are among the teams to have suffered fresh injury blows, while it’ll be fascinating to see how Tim Sheens responds to the Wests Tigers’ latest loss amid talk he could shake up his spine.
The Melbourne Storm, meanwhile, could be without halfback Jahrome Hughes for their clash with the Tigers and will be sweating on superstar Cameron Munster’s return from a finger injury.
The good news for Danny Levi is he didn't lose any teeth. The bad news is he'll undergo surgery on a broken jaw and will miss eight to 10 weeks.
It's a big blow for Levi and the Canberra Raiders after the Samoa international joined the club and claimed the starting hooker role.
But the Raiders pointed to last year, when Zac Woolford formed a hooking partnership with Tom Starling in the Green Machine's charge to the finals.
