    Canberra's young team rallied to a 26-24 win over the Roosters, boosting their premiership hopes.

    Canberra's 'generation next' have stood tall in a come-from-behind 26-24 win over the Sydney Roosters that has further strengthened the Raiders' claims as genuine premiership contenders. 

    Without first-choice hooker Tom Starling (suspension) and Manly-bound halfback Jamal Fogarty (groin), the Raiders' youthful spine showed calmness and composure to run the Roosters down at Allianz Stadium on Sunday. 

    Debutant halfback Ethan Sanders didn't look out of place in his first game for the Raiders, while Owen Pattie kicked a 40/20 and set up a try with a clever grubber kick in what was arguably his finest NRL game to date.

    Two contentious tries to the Roosters was not enough to rattle the Raiders as Ricky Stuart's men unveiled an epic comeback charge to defeat the Tricolours 26-24.

    A sensational onslaught of tries by the Raiders put the Roosters to the test, although a late try by Robert Toia opened the gate for the hosts to send the game into golden point.

    Ricky Stuart rode every emotion of the match with his team on the sidelines, with his excitement reaching its peak as Victor Radley made an error with 30 seconds to go.
