Long-running tensions bubbled to the surface as a Stephen Crichton-led comeback cemented Canterbury's spot at the top of the NRL ladder against second-placed Canberra.

The Bulldogs scored 32 unanswered points to overturn a 20-point halftime deficit and silence the majority of the sell-out 23,827 crowd at GIO Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

‘Weak-gutted dog’: Bulldogs star reignites Ricky feud with try celebration in epic comeback

Jaeman Salmon celebrated his try by mocking Ricky Stuart in Bulldogs' comeback win.

Bulldogs lock Jaeman Salmon continued his long running feud with Raiders coach Ricky Stuart with a pointed try celebration in Canterbury's 32-20 comeback win.

Salmon pointed to the Bulldogs crest on his jersey and mouthed the words "weak-gutted dog" in the direction of the camera.

Stuart infamously called Salmon a weak-gutted dog in a stunning press conference a couple of seasons ago while he was at the Panthers.

Now in his second season at the Bulldogs, Salmon was quick to remind Stuart after he scored a try in the 47th minute of the clash at GIO Stadium.

The Bulldogs' epic comeback against the Canberra Raiders has been overshadowed by "weak-gutted dog" 2.0 after Jaeman Salmon reignited a feud with Ricky Stuart.

In a moment that is sure to stir controversy, Salmon scored in the second half, got to his feet and pointed to his chest while yelling "weak-gutted dog".

The pointed sledge was in reference to Stuart labelling Salmon three years ago, which prompted the NRL to take unprecedented action by suspending Stuart from coaching duties. Stuart was also fined $20,000.
