Despite the points fest in Redcliffe, it took the hosts ten minutes to get their first try when Tevita Naufahu scored in the corner with a great put down. The Phins struggled to hold the ball in good position and it took them another 15 minutes for their second when Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow found Trai Fuller to go downfield and link with Oryn Keeley who scored under the posts.

The hosts added three more tries inside the space of the final ten minutes of the first half as Jake Averillo scored one and then Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow picked up two tries. Jamayne Isaako put on a goalkicking clinic putting all 5 conversions through the posts to help the Dolphins to a 30-0 lead.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to come within one try of the NRL's top try-scorer this season, the Roosters' Mark Nawaqanitawase.

Dolphins' finals hopes depend on Roosters; defensive issues could hinder their chances.

    League Unlimited

The Dolphins are potentially playing for their finals future against a Canberra Raiders side, who are using their trip to Redcliffe's Kayo Stadium to allow their NRL stars to work on their suntan and let their next generation prosper.

Let's kick-off this preview by stipulating the obvious here. The Dolphins finals hopes rest largely on the Roosters performance against South Sydney. If results go their way, then they are in the same position as last year, where if they win by a big margin, they are in, lose and they're resigned to a September enjoying beers instead of finals footy. But if they get to that point, then their collapse at the end of the season is to blame due to their poor defensive attitude to end the year.
