    Warriors investigate assistant coach for allegedly grabbing journalist during half-time in Las Vegas NRL match.

    The New Zealand Warriors have released a statement saying the NRL Integrity Unit is investigating after assistant coach Richard Agar allegedly grabbed an English journalist at half-time in their defeat to Canberra in Las Vegas.

    "Post game I was made aware of an alleged incident at half-time involving assistant coach Richard Agar and an English journalist John Davidson from The Guardian," Warriors chief executive Cameron George said in a statement.

    "This morning I had the opportunity to speak with the NRL Integrity Unit. They are working through their process which will include us.

    The NRL's spectacular season opener in Las Vegas wasn't short of talking points in the aftermath.

    The Canberra Raiders copped a tough blow in the fallout as skipper Joe Tapine faces a two-match suspension with an early plea for his second-half shoulder charge on Mitch Barnett in the 30-8 win over the New Zealand Warriors, and Xavier Savage faces a one-match ban for dangerous contact on Chanel Harris-Tavita.

    If the pair fight the charges at the NRL judiciary and lose they'd be ruled out an additional match each.
