    WHY YEO MUST BE INCLUDED IMMORTAL DEBATE

    Too often the hard-working forwards seem to get overlooked or overtaken by the star playmakers or flashy backs when it comes to the game's top individual honours.

    There is absolutely no question Nathan Cleary is a rugby league Immortal-in-waiting. But just because Cleary is a certainty to one day enter the game's most exclusive club should not exclude Isaah Yeo from the same Immortal debate down the track.

    The fact is there has not been a more important forward to any team in living memory than what this towering lock means to the continued success of the greatest club team of the last 60 years.

    And you can throw in the influence Sam Burgess had on the Rabbitohs, Sonny Bill Williams at the Roosters, Gorden Tallis at the Broncos, Bradley Clyde at the Raiders, or Ray Price at Parramatta.

    Canberra's statement win in Las Vegas has come at a big cost with captain Joe Tapine and star winger Xavier Savage facing suspensions from the NRL match review committee.

    Raiders captain Tapine went to the sin bin for shoulder-charging Warriors co-captain Mitch Barnett in the second half of the 30-8 victory that opened the NRL season on Sunday (AEDT).

    "We turned the ball over and that's my job, I'm trying to pump the boys up and I'm trying to turn the momentum," Tapine said of the hit.
