  • Ethan Strange 'really clicking' with Raiders veteran after 'crazy' rookie season

    Brisbane Broncos

Strange and Fogarty showcased chemistry in Canberra's 2025 season opener against Cronulla, impressing despite the loss.

    Wide World of Sports

Ethan Strange and Jamal Fogarty hit the ground running in 2025, with the Canberra halves pairing putting an arduous pre-season to the test on Thursday night in a loss to Cronulla.

The pair spent some time together in Strange's rookie campaign last year, but Fogarty's battles with injury made it difficult for them to form a proper combination.

AFB scores on debut as Hynes leads Sharks’ rout of rusty Raiders despite injury scare

Sharks' Nicho Hynes injured but not serious, Addin Fonua-Blake shines in big win over Raiders.

    Fox League

Sharks fans can rest easy despite Nicho Hynes having ice on his right groin as Addin Fonua-Blake showed why he's been touted as one of the greatest signings in club history and the man capable of taking them from a finals side to a genuine premiership threat.

The field dimensions may have been a bit smaller to prepare the players for Allegiant Stadium, but that didn't stop livewire fullback Kaeo Weekes from finding the space he needed to set up the try of the pre-season on Thursday.

"Just a little bit of a tight adductor, but I think it was the plan to play that long anyway," Hynes said post match.

The Tongan tormentor Fonua-Blake stepped his way through the line and powered his way over five minutes into the second half as Cronulla overcame a slow start to beat the Raiders 40-10 as Hynes showed glimpses of his best before he came off for a scheduled break and had no injury concerns despite sporting an ice pack.
