    The Canberra Raiders have suffered a massive blow to their NRL finals hopes on the eve of their crucial clash against the Sydney Roosters.

    Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty suffered a mild hamstring strain in the final five minutes of their Friday training session, forcing him out of the game at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.

    It's unclear yet whether he'll be fit to face St George Illawarra next week with it potentially being a one to two week injury.

    Albert Hopoate is fit to play the Sydney Roosters just days after wearing a moonboot.

    Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said his winger had pulled up well from an injection into his ankle at the start of the week and would run out for the crucial clash at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.

    Stuart's son Jed Stuart was waiting in the wings in case Hopoate wasn't fit and will be 18th man for the second week in a row.

    It's an understatement to say Corey Horsburgh has had a fair bit happening off the field this season.

    But Canberra Raiders teammate Tom Starling praised the way the 26-year-old has handled the distractions.

    Horsburgh asked for a release from the final three years of his Raiders contract, which runs until the end of 2027, and has been given permission to talk to other clubs.
