    With all this debate about a 14th NRL Immortal there's been one glaring omission, and it's as clear as the eyes on the face of a brick.

    A lot of the talk has centered around the NRL announcing Ron Coote, Cameron Smith, Darren Lockyer, Peter Sterling or Brett Kenny as the next Immortal on Wednesday night.

    All great players. All great records. But then the same can be said of Glenn Lazarus.

    'We need to go down fighting': Raiders still hold onto finals hopes

    Canberra Raiders remain hopeful for NRL finals but need help from other teams.

    While there's life, there's hope. And the Canberra Raiders plan to go down swinging while there's still some NRL finals hope.

    Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty was still aiming for the top eight - knowing it will not take them winning all three of their remaining games, plus St George Illawarra losing all three of theirs.

    As well as the Dragons losing all three - including their round 27 clash against the Green Machine at Kogarah - they also need the Dolphins to lose at least two games, while Brisbane and Newcastle need to lose at least one.

    Ricky and Jed could make Raiders history as changes rung for Penrith

    Ricky Stuart makes changes, including son Jed, to revive Canberra Raiders' NRL finals hopes.

    Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has made a raft of changes in a bid to re-start their flagging NRL finals hopes, including the most interesting of all - his son Jed Stuart coming into the 22.

    It could see the first time a dad has coached his son at the Raiders - coincidentally against the Penrith Panthers, where Ivan Cleary coaches his son Nathan.

    Jed Stuart was just one of the changes, with Jordan Rapana returning from concussion to slot in at fullback.
