Mal Meninga won three premierships as a Canberra Raiders player and has since won almost everything as a coach.

Now the Raiders legend is back at the club in a wide-ranging ambassadorial role that will see him brought in as a heavy hitter whenever required.

If Raiders coach Ricky Stuart or chief executive Don Furner feel there's an area Meninga's significant influence can help then the duo can now call on one of the biggest names in rugby league to help get the job done.

Media ban adds intrigue as Wighton faces old club in crucial NRL finals match.

It's the media ban that adds another layer of intrigue to an already massive contest in the race to the NRL finals.

South Sydney told The Canberra Times Jack Wighton wasn't doing any media this week as he prepares to play his old club, the Canberra Raiders, for the first time since joining the Rabbitohs.

But it's not just a massive game for Wighton - returning to Canberra Stadium on Sunday to take on the club he played 242 NRL games for - it's a must-win game for both the Raiders and Souths if they want to play finals as well.

Canberra Raiders' Rapana deciding between staying or joining English Super League with Whitehead.

Canberra Raiders veteran Jordan Rapana is weighing up whether to remain with the Green Machine or follow captain Elliott Whitehead to the English Super League.

Rapana has a two-year deal on the table to go overseas, believed to be with either Catalans or Hull FC, or a one-year offer from the Raiders.
