Sold-out magic round means couch surfing for NRL fans this weekend, with women's State of Origin.

Let's be honest. If you haven't already got tickets to the sold-out magic round, you'll be parking yourself on the couch for the first game of Magic Round on Friday evening, barely moving a muscle over the weekend while the NRL is on for the next three days.

With a weekend that also kicks off with the women's State of Origin clash, it's a footy fest that you won't want to miss.

Ricky Stuart unsure of response, records video message for George Gregan's 50th birthday.

Ricky Stuart wasn't sure if the silence was anger, disappointment or ... acceptance.

The legendary Canberra Raiders halfback had been asked to record a video message to send to George Gregan - a fellow St Edmund's College graduate and Canberra sporting icon - to celebrate his 50^th birthday last year.

So Stuart thought about what he would say for a while. Then he grabbed a glass of red wine ("because George likes his red wine") and then he hit record.

1994 Raiders team reunites in Brisbane; Davico reveals unexpected Grand Final role despite illness.

As the Raiders players from the 1994 grand final winning team gather in Brisbane on Friday for a reunion, the stories will no doubt flow like the Murrumbidgee in flood.

While it's hard to imagine anything new emerging from the Raiders camp from that era, the Luke Davico revelations last week prove that there is potentially more to come.

Davico revealed that he turned up to the 1994 Grand Final under the weather and was not expecting to have any role, given that he had been playing reserve grade for much of the year.
