Levi under 'pressure' to keep Raiders starting spot

Danny Levi struggles after impressive start, benched in disappointing loss, under pressure from coach.

    The Canberra Times

Canberra Raiders hooker Danny Levi is feeling the heat, and he's not alone, according to coach Ricky Stuart.

Levi had a hot start to the season scoring four tries in the opening five rounds, but he had his worst game of the year so far in Canberra's 40-0 thrashing by the Sharks last week at home.

The 28-year-old was benched in the first half of the Raiders' loss, not long after he had an embarrassing knock-on with the tryline in his sights.

    The Canberra Times

Canberra Raiders winger Nick Cotric will be out to rescue his NRL career when he returns to first grade on Friday night in Manly.

But a string of tough losses for the Raiders has seen Schiller dropped from the wing and Hopoate called up to give young fullback Chevy Stewart a rest, meaning Cotric is back in the No.5 jersey.

Sea Eagles skipper and star half-back Daly Cherry-Evans will be taking the field after successfully appealing his Dangerous Throw charge, which was downgraded to a grade one offence.

Ethan Bullemor will step up to fill the void left by Haumole Olakau'atu, who is serving a two-match suspension for his involvement in the same tackle.
