    Canberra's young talents have put in a stellar shift to get their NRL campaign back on track, thrashing Parramatta 41-8 on Sunday night.

    Sixth-gamer half Ethan Strange starred with two try assists in the best performance of his career, with a dazzling 70m try from emerging winger Xavier Savage helping the Raiders take control at GIO Stadium.

    It was the perfect response to their dismal loss against Cronulla last weekend where they threw away an 18-0 lead, with fellow youngster James Schiller getting in on the act with four line breaks and a second-half try.

    Jordan Rapana feared career-ending injury, but returned and Raiders' young players stepped up.

    As kids, Matt Timoko and Simi Sasagi were running around playing for Ellerslie Eagles in Auckland.

    Now they'll line up alongside each other for the Canberra Raiders in the NRL.

    Sasagi was named on the Raiders' bench for the clash against the Parramatta Eels at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
