    NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round Nine Preview

    The Raiders face the Roosters Sunday, needing a win to secure their Top Eight position.

    The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup squads are facing off against the Sydney Roosters this Sunday at Wentworth Park.

    Jersey Flegg Cup 

    The Jersey Flegg Cup will kick off the day at 12:30pm in an exciting match between the Raiders and the Roosters. 

    The Canberra side are currently eighth on the ladder and are travelling up to Sydney to meet the 12th-placed Roosters on their home turf.

    The Raiders will be looking to bounce back from their loss against the Wests Tigers last week or risk losing their current position in the Top Eight.

    Meanwhile, the home side have conceded six losses so far this season, claiming victory only once against the last-placed Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

    The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders NSW and Jersey Flegg Cup sides will travel to Lidcombe Oval to take on the Magpies on ANZAC Day this Saturday.

    The Raiders JF Cup side are aiming for four wins in a row, when they take on the Tigers in the first of a double header in Sydney.

    Canberra have averaged 43 points in their last three games, showcasing their ability to score points quickly in patches.

    This will be one of Canberra's toughest tests of the early season, facing the fourth placed Tigers.

    Although they've had two early byes, the Tigers pose a 3-1 record and haven't lost at home yet this year.

    Canberra Raiders centre Matthew Timoko has opened up about the mental burden of swirling contract discussions, speaking out after finally making his long-awaited return to the NRL.

    While Timoko was stuck watching from the sidelines, nursing a foot injury picked up in the preseason and working his way back through the NSW Cup, rumours about his future ran wild.

    With his deal set to expire at season's end, albeit with club options for 2027 and 2028, whispers linking the Kiwi international to both the Perth Bears and the Warriors grew louder by the week.

    It was coach Ricky Stuart who eventually silenced the noise, confirming Timoko would remain in the nation's capital for at least another year.
